Natural Hair Series: Winter Protection - The Wrap

Image
Hello Everyone. It has been extremely cold here in the UK and I have noticed the change in the way my hair has dried out, so I decided to start protecting it by wrapping it up in this lovely turban style which I copied from the lovely Youtube sensation Laila-Jean from Fusion of Cultures . Laila-Jean is one of the Youtube guru's who have helped me in my natural hair journey with her endless knowledge and bubbly personality. Love her channel. I'm a firm subscriber :-). I love head wraps but I don't experiment with them as much as I love them. With both wraps I used my satin bonnet underneath to stop the scarf from drying out my hair even more. There is also a link below of Laila-Jean's tutorial to this wrap and a few more. Please ignore the crappy makeup, hahahahaha. Enjoy :-) Black Scarf - Random Shop (Magenta) Stars and Stripes Scarf - New Look Black Cross Earrings - Internacionale Feather Earrings - Internacionale Lipstick - Kate Moss Matte Lipsti...

Natural Hair Series : Birthday Protective Style (Boho Box Braids)

Image
Hello all. So my birthday is coming up soon (August 20th) and I have been looking to give my natural hair a little break. I have worn this style in the past in my teenage days and I loved it then and I surely still love it now but I fell in love with it even more when I saw the gorgeous Solange Knowles wearing this same protective style. Yes I am talking about the versatile Boho Box Braids. Do you love it or not? Let me know what you think. Love it The Solange Knowles Take on Boho Box Braids I may not go that long but I am definitely doing it :-) Thanks For Dropping In :-) Love Miss AfroDee xxx

Natural Hair Series : Bentonite Clay Hair Mask

Image
Hello Everyone. So I haven't done a Bentonite Clay Hair Mask for months now but I really felt like doing one today. I love the results of a Bentonite Clay and really don't know why it's took me so long to give my kinks a good dose. I didn't think of creating a blog post about this until after I had applied the mask but hope you get the idea. Enjoy!!! Bentonite Clay Hair Mask Mix 5 Heaped Tablespoons of Bentonite Clay 1 Teaspoon of Honey 2 Teaspoons of Olive Oil Sufficient amount of water  Usually I would use 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar instead of water, but I run out of my stash, lol. Mix all ingredients to form a pliable paste adjusting  as required. NOTE  Depending on hair length more or less of the ingredients will be required. Use a plastic bowl/container and plastic spoon for your mixture as Bentonite Clay minerals reacts to  metals. I normally start my application from the back and work my way to the front, as it makes it easie...
